Western New York Amateur Hockey League

All 5 cancelled travel playoff games have been rescheduled for next weekend, resulting in some changes to championship games to accommodate teams that are now playing semi-final games on Saturday or effected by HS games also being cancelled today. 

In total, 6 games have changed days (3 to Sunday, 1 to Friday, 2 to Saturday) and 3 other games remained on the same day but had their start time pushed back anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours. 

All changes are shown in red on the attachment below.  Please review the schedule closely and notify your players and staff of the changes.

Due to the weather related cancellations of games on Sunday, 2/24/19, playoff games and championship games have been rescheduled and modified.

Dear WNYAHL playoff teams,

Currently all playoff games scheduled for Sunday, 2/24/19 are still on. However, with the projected weather forecast of high wind warnings and possible travel bans etc., all teams are asked to check the WNYAHL.net home page for updates on the games.

As of this email, everything is planned to take place as scheduled. If your team is in an area with a travel ban, unsafe conditions or inclement weather, please let Janice Cavaretta know immediately via text or phone call so she can confirm, and the league can plan accordingly. The league will have executive board representation at both the Lakeshore arena and Cheektowaga rink.

Be advised that any cancellations or schedule modifications on Sunday 2/24/19 will result in game changes and modifications in the schedule and possibly location for the championship weekend.
