Tier I Proposal Draft Tryout Task Force (approved by USA Hockey Congress on January 28, 2024) The following language will be inserted in Section III.B of the Rules & Regulations on page 166 of the 2023-24 Annual Guide. Updated USA Hockey Tier 1 Rules Regarding Recruiting, Tampering, and Player Movement Summary

The purpose and intent of this document is to provide a general summary and overview of the recently adopted USA Hockey rules related to Tier 1 recruiting tampering and player movement. This is a summary and overview of the rule and is being provided to players and programs to help assist them in understanding the new rules that have been adopted. Any actual interpretations of the rule will be done by disinterested members of Affiliate President Committee based upon specific factual situations which arise. While this rule this summary is being provided for guidance it is not intended to supplant or replace the provisions of the rule.

 

New Player Movement Rule Adopted for 2024-25 Season

NYSAHA at the annual congress passed an updated rules on player movement, commitments and releases.  The document is available here.
