2016 PLAYOFF INFORMATION
The amount of teams that will qualify for the WNYAHL Playoffs from each division will be distributed at the December general board meeting to all organizations. It will also be published on the website.
The WNYAHL Guide book has a section on playoffs and a general idea of how many teams will qualify. We will try to include as many teams as possible without compromising competitiveness. All teams will not qualify for the playoffs.
The 2016 playoffs will take place on February 26 - 28, 2016 hosted at the Cheektowaga Rec Center ice arena and new to the 2016 season at the Lockport Cornerstone Ice Arena. Many thanks to both for stepping up to host the games.
The Championship weekend will be March 4 - 6, 2016 at Cheektowaga Ice Arena.
The actual schedule of dates, times and locations will not be set until a week to 10 days prior to the games being played. This is done for several reasons, to ensure all games are played and finalized; another is for consideration to those teams that may need to travel. Teams are advised NOT TO SCHEDULE ANY OTHER GAMES, TOURNAMENTS AT THIS TIME. There are stiff penalties for not participating in league play.
The WNY Playoff coordinator tries to assist where he can, however, keep in mind that not everyone will be happy with the schedule and all cannot be accommodated.
