In NEED of HELP
4 year old Adelina Maxick of Lackawanna fundraiser
TIME OF NEED—Last December, Adelina Maxick of Lackawanna, then 3, daughter of Timothy and Iwona Maxick, was diagnosed with a Stage IV Wilms Tumor, a form of kidney cancer that strikes children. Since then, she’s had surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatments and lengthy stays in Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Women and Children’s Hospital. Her mom has left her job to spend time with her.
To help the Maxicks, friends and family are holding a benefit from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday in the Blasdell Fire Hall, 121 Miriam Ave. Tickets are $20 and include food, beer and pop. Children are welcome. There will be auctions, a bake sale and prize raffles, along with a kids’ gift shop. Donations are welcome. Call Meri Najuch at 627-2091 or Serena Blasdell at 823-1042.
